This past weekend I found a way to put my cardmaking skills to good use. I am a member of the Wilmington Downtown Rotary Club and one of our members asked fellow Rotarians to write letters to soldiers recently deployed to Iraq.
Forget letters, I made over 50 unique handmade cards thanking these young people for their service, urging them to be strong, to be brave, and to be safe. Those of you who stamp know how much thought goes into designing cards. Every card is different and special in its own right. I used hearts as a main theme to celebrate Valentine’s Day which is just around the corner. With new stamps, punches, and designer papers, I had a ball creating these cards. I literally spent my entire weekend in my stamping studio and I know that my efforts will be appreciated.
No more procrastinating-it’s time to get back to writing my sequel. If you’d like to see card samples that are on their way to Iraq, check out the 82nd Airborne card gallery. Enjoy and Happy Valentine’s Day!
