Last week I listened to a webinar about how to use Pinterest to monetize book sales. Well, I was curious to see how this worked and although I’ve had a Pinterest account for ages, I’ve only used it to pin cards that caught me eye and to scroll around for inspiration.
So, I went ahead and created some Boards. It took me some time to figure it out and get the cards uploaded. Around that time, I had been making thank you cards for the 82nd Airborne through my Rotary Club. In addition, I finally decided to make cards using paper pumpkin kit and catalog kit leftovers. It was high time to find a way to use all those adorable pieces, cutouts, and extras and to make some cool cards.
I have to say, I really enjoyed using all those pieces in a creative fashion. To me, they’re not scraps but valuable stamping supplies that I didn’t want to throw away. Those of you who grew up in a time of being a member of the ‘clean plate club’ know what I’m talking about!! You can see some of these cards at my gallery. As I accumulate more kits and have more leftover supplies, I will be making additional cards. My best advice is to take one kit at a time and use similar colors of cardstock, ribbon, markers, etc., and add die cut pieces using DSP. Who doesn’t have stacks of retired and current DSP just sitting there waiting to be used? I know I do. You’ll feel really good using leftovers-I can assure you, so give it a try. Please post your samples, too!
