During the past 5 months, since March 13 or so, I’ve been making cards, lots of cards, or shall I say, hundreds of cards. Yes, in addition to baking and cooking, I’ve spent hours in my stamping studio or atelier for those of you who took French in school.
I’m a member of a very large Rotary club in my community and I chair the Sunshine Committee. This committee is in charge of brightening one’s day by sending birthday cards, congratulations cards and on that rare occasion, sympathy and get well cards to our members. There are about 6 committee members and each member takes a month or two and sends out the cards. My contribution has been to supply all the handmade cards. I deliver the cards to the person who has a particular month and they’re in charge of writing a note and mailing it out to the recipient.
Prior to COVID, I was holding workshops at my home in my atelier and showing the newbies how to make cards. We’d make batches of birthday cards and then I’d fix them up and sort them out later. The gals enjoyed learning how to stamp! One even sent her sister-in-law a paper pumpkin subscription and I’ve now become a pen pal with this crafter who lives in Maine. One of these days maybe I’ll get to Maine and, visit LL Bean! But I digress.
One of our newer Sunshine Committee members called me today and wanted to buy a couple of all occasion card packs for personal use. I told her that I hadn’t really done that but I’d look into it. After thinking about this for, oh, a few minutes, I decided to put together 3 card packs- 10 cards and envelopes in each pack, all different occasions, ie, birthday, get well, thinking of you, sympathy, hello, and thank you. I packaged them up with ribbon, a tag, and the SU statement of the heart, along with my Orange Glow Stampers logo. I texted my friend and told her that she had inspired me and that I was going to post this on my website and see if there’s any interest. I know some of you sell cards but I never thought the ROI was fruitful. However, perhaps now is the time to try it again, when I have hundreds of cards already waiting to get outside my atelier!
So, if you’re looking to buy a card pack of gorgeous all occasion cards, please message me at orangeglowstampers@gmail.com. I can drop them off to you if you’re local, or I’d be happy to ship the packs to you. Just when you thought things were quiet, friends can inspire you to kick it up a notch and venture out into a new direction. Don’t be shy. You might even brighten someone’s day with a beautiful handmade card! Check out my Creative Ideas/Galleries to see the card packs!

My cards are perfect! They’re extra special for this difficult time. Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you so much Lynne. I just dropped off cards to Vicki. She encountered a lot of storm damage at her home. She’s off of River Rd and right on the water. As my old pastor used to say, you don’t have to own beachfront property. You can visit the beach anytime!
